UX Engineer
Minviro is at the forefront of the transition to a green economy. The technologies needed for this transition (such as batteries, magnets, and solar panels) are massively more energy-intensive to produce than their fossil fuel counterparts (such as combustion engines). Without consideration, the transition to green energy will not be enough to prevent climate catastrophe. Our goal is clear: to help companies in the energy transition understand, and reduce, their environmental impact.
As a growing startup with aspirations to become a leading name in environmental intelligence, our culture is shaped by ambition, collaboration, and constant innovation. Our team has expanded rapidly, doubling in size in 2022 and 2023, and we've recently opened new offices in Shanghai and Perth. This growth reflects our position as the most respected LCA consultancy in the energy transition sector.
We are open to those looking for remote work, so long as you're within +/- 2 hours of GMT.
The role
We’re looking for a UX Engineer to join our team, working alongside our team of engineers and product manager to build a winning green tech product.
You’ll use your mix of design and technical skills to design and implement the user experience of a complex data product. Working within a small product engineering team, you’ll have the opportunity to put your stamp on how UX/UI design is done at Minviro.
What will you be doing?
Ideation: Collaborate with your colleagues to come up with solutions that solve real problems for our customers.
Prototyping: You’ll put ideas in front of customers in the form of lo-fi concepts or prototypes and learn whether it's go or no go.
Implementation: You’ll lead the UX and UI design of our product, and implement ideas into code.
Collaboration: You’ll lead the creation of a design system for the rest of the engineering team to adopt, rapidly increasing the velocity of UI creation.
What we’re looking for (the essentials):
You are a mid-level UX Engineer with at least three years experience in user-centric product design.
You know how to build great user experiences, ideally for a SaaS data product in a web-based context.
You’ve successfully worked with engineering teams to collaboratively build designs. Your stack probably includes React and Tailwind.
You’re excited about what we’re trying to do for the green technology sector, and can demonstrate an ability to quickly pick up industry knowledge in LCA.
In addition, it would be the icing on the cake if you have experience at the early-stage of product discovery, gathering feedback and finding product market fit.
